Challenge: Conventional tile set-outs rely on allowances, leading to 15% waste allowances, and potential uneven cuts.

Method: Modelled individual tiles to define precise layouts for each area, enabling quantities to be pulled directly from the model.

Result: Reduced waste allowance to under 5%, and delivered a balanced finish with no sliver cuts.

Challenge: Head-height risks identified in the curved staircase design.

Method: The 3D model informed a collaborative design refinement with the architect. Engineers used it to visualise & approve change—substituting PFCs with steel plate and removing support posts.

Result: Compliance achieved, curvature enhanced, and architectural intent strengthened—satisfying both architect and client.
